Applicability
  • Firmware version: Any
  • Model: U-Series, TA100

Problem Description

TA100 is registered to U100 extension.
A fax machine is connected to TA100.
Sending fax is good on TA100, but receiving failed.
The Fax source  trunk on U100 is a SIP trunk which the fax is based voice pass-through, no T.38 invovled.

Analysis

The Asterisk CLI log on U100 shows the call jumps its fax extension, and the fax call would not be handled by TA100 subsequently:

Solution

Disable the fax detection on U100, as it's voice pass-through fax. In this situation, the U100 doesn't need to handle any work of fax work.

Customized the sip.conf on U100.

1. Create sip_custom.conf in the path /persistent/custom-cfg/ by SSH
2. The content in sip_custom.conf is:
[general]
faxdetect=no
3. Save the file. Go to the web interface save and apply any change to let the custom config take effect.
