There are 3 types of SIP trunks in the VoIP trunk menu.
- Account
- Trunk
- Service Provider
You might be confused: which type of SIP trunk should I use?
Please check out the difference between them.
Account
Gateway would offer a SIP account for the other SIP device to register.
It can be registered with several accounts by other SIP devices at the same time.
It is suitable for the scenario that the other side SIP device to need to pick a specific port to make outbound calls.
Trunk
It is a registration-type SIP trunk. Usually, if you purchase the SIP trunk service from the provider. Please use this type. The provider would offer SIP trunk information for you to register.
Also if other SIP device offer SIP account for you, you can use this type of trunk to register.
Service Provider
Actually, it is peer-type SIP trunk which is authenticated by IP address only. It is usually for interconnection to Yeastar devices or other SIP devices which supports the peer-type trunk. If the other side doesn't support the peer-type trunk. Please use Account or Trunk type instead.
It can be registered only once by the other sid SIP device.
It's suitable for a simple routing scenario which is the SIP server side doesn't need to pick a specific port to make outbound calls.
