1. Introduction
This application note shows how to configure S-Series PBX with TB400 via SIP trunking.
Target:
1. Make outbound calls from S-Series PBX extension through the BRI trunks of TB400 directly.
2. Receive calls from BRI trunks of TB400 at S-Series PBX.
Description:
- IP address of S-Series PBX: 192.168.6.116
- IP address of TB400: 192.168.6.205
- BRI DID range: 5503300-5503310
- BRI DOD range: 5503300-5503310
2. Connect S-Series PBX to TB400
2.1 Create a Peer Trunk on S-Series PBX
Path: Settings→PBX→Trunks→VoIP Trunk
- Trunk Type: Peer Trunk
- Provider Name: TB400
- Hostname/IP: 192.168.6.205
- Domain: 192.168.6.205
After save and apply the changes, you will see the trunk is ‘ok’ in ‘Line Status’ page.
Path: PBX Monitor→Trunks
2.2 Create a VoIP Trunk on TB400
Path: Gateway→VoIP Settings→VoIP Trunk→Add VoIP Trunk
Choose "Service Provider" mode, and fill in S-Series PBX IP address.
- Trunk Type: Service Provider
- Provider Name: S100
- Hostname/IP: 192.168.6.116
After save and apply the changes, you will see the trunk is “OK” in “Line Status” page.
Path: Status→System Status→Trunk Status
2.3 Setup BRI trunk on TB400
After save and apply changes, please check the E1 trunk status on Status -> System Status -> Trunk status.
3. Outgoing Calls from S-Series PBX through BRI
3.1 Create an Outbound Route on S-Series PBX
Path: Settings→PBX→ Call Control → Outbound Routes
Choose the VoIP trunk "TB400" and set the rule for the outbound as the picture shows, which allows users to dial out any number out.
3.2 Create Route on TB400
Path: Gateway→Routes Settings→Routes List
- Simple Mode: Yes
- Call Comes in From: ServiceProvider—S100
- Send Call Through: BRI—BriTrunk1.
3.3 Setup DOD for Extensions in S-Series PB
For example, we set extension 1001 as DOD number 5551001.When you use extension 1001 to make outgoing call through TB400, callee will see the caller ID number 5551001.
4. Incoming Calls from BRI to S-Series PBX
4.1 Create ‘FromTB400toS100’ Route on TB400
Path: Gateway→Routes Settings→Routes List
- Simple Mode: Yes
- Call Comes in From: BRI—BriTrunk1.
- Send Call Through: ServiceProvider—S100.
4.2 Create an Inbound Route on S-Series PBX
Path: Settings→PBX→Call Control→Inbound Routes
In this guide, we set single DID number 5551001 and set destination to extension 1001. While in practical use, you might set destination to others or set a DID number range with extension range as destination. See more details in our DID instruction.
DID number: 5551001 (which is same to the BRI trunk external number)
Set Destination: 1001
After saving the settings, you can dial the BRI DID number 5551001 from the mobile phone, the call will be routed to the extension 1001 on S-Series PBX.
