The recommended solution for Connect Yeastar PBX and third-party PBX through sip account trunk to realize using Yeastar PBX's trunk for outbound calls.

Case background:

Since Yeastar PBX supports FQDN or LCS Pro, account trunks are often created on Yeastar PBX to register with other PBXs to connect the two devices.

However, suppose Yeastar PBX is connected to two external trunks, and the customer wants to use a specific trunk to make outbound calls from other PBX extensions. They often create two account trunks in Yeatar PBX to register with the same PBX. In this case, one of the trunk incoming calls from other PBX to Yeatar will fail.

Therefore, this solution of creating two account trunks to register with the same PBX is not recommended. The following is the recommended configuration solution.

Recommended solution:

Create only one account trunk on Yeastar PBX to connect with another PBX.

How to connect two PBXs via account trunk via FQDN can refer to the below guide.

The following is an example of two P-Series PBXs. If connecting with another PBX, you can treat the registered P-Series PBX in this guide as other PBXs.

https://help.yeastar.com/en/p-series-appliance-edition/integrations/yeastar-p-series-pbx-system/connect-two-yeastar-p-series-pbx-systems-via-fqdn.html

After the two PBXs are successfully connected, use different trunks by calling different number prefixes for outgoing calls.

For example: If the extension of another PBX calls 9X. (X. is the real number, 9 is the prefix) and uses Yeastar PBX trunk 1 for outbound calls. Call 8X. (X. is the real number, 8 is the prefix) and uses Yeastar PBX trunk2 for outbound calls. The configuration is as follows:

Create an outbound route on the other PBX with dial pattern 9X.

Create 2 outbound routes on Yeastar PBX to make calls via trunk 1 and trunk 2 separately.

Dial pattern 9X. and strip 1 (to delete the prefix 9), and select the trunk 1.

Dial pattern 8X. and strip 1 (to delete the prefix 8), and select the trunk 2.

Create an inbound route on Yeastar PBX to match the 9X. inbound call from other PBX, and route it the outbound route that will use trunk 1 to make outgoing calls.

Create another inbound route on Yeastar PBX to match the 8X. inbound call from other PBX, and route it the outbound route that will use trunk 2 to make outgoing calls.

In this way, different trunk calls can be matched by calling out different prefixes.

In turn, the incoming calls of trunk1 are routed to the specific destination 1 of other PBX, and the incoming calls of trunk2 are routed to the specific destination 2 of other PBX.

You only need to configure the inbound routes of these two trunks separately on Yeastar PBX, and then route to the outbound route that Yeastar PBX dial to other PBX, and other PBX creates two inbound routes to match the DID numbers of trunk 1 and trunk 2 to different destinations.

In summary, do not create two account trunks on the same Yeastar PBX to register with the same PBX.
