Fax to Email feature helps you receiving faxes on your smart phone or computer. To use this feature, you don’t have to install a fax machine or fax server. Yeastar S-Series VoIP PBX will convert the received fax and forward it to your email.
In this guide, we introduce how to send fax to extension 1000’s email box.
Step 1 Setting up System Email
To use “Fax to Email” feature, you need configure the Yeastar S-Series PBX’s system email. The system email is used to forward the received fax file to your email address.
- Go to “Settings > System > Email”, fill in an available email address and the email SMTP server, POP3 server.
- Enable SSL/TLS if the email provider supports SSL/TLS.
- Click “Test”.
- If the system prompts “Test Successfully”, then the email would work on the system.
Step 2 Setting up Extension Email
- Go to “Settings > PBX > Extension > Basic”, set the extension’s email address.
- Click “Save” and “Apply”.
Step 3 Configuring Inbound Route
Receiving Fax through Dedicated Trunks
You can create one inbound route on S-Series PBX for fax receiving purpose only.
*In this way, the trunks could receive faxes only.
- Go to “Settings > PBX > Call Control > Inbound Route”, click “Add” to create a new inbound route.
- Select member trunks. (* GSM trunk is not supported)
- Set the Destination as “Fax to Email”, and choose one extension’s email.
- Click “Save” and “Apply”.
Receiving Fax via Fax Detection
If you don’t want to assign a dedicated trunk for receiving fax, you can configure fax detection on the inbound route. When a fax reaches S-Series PBX, the PBX could detect it and forward it to your email box.
*In this way, the trunks could receive calls and faxes.
- Go to “Settings > PBX > Call Control > Inbound Route”, edit one inbound route.
- Select the member trunks.
- Set the Destination as “IVR”.
- Check “Enable Fax Detection” option.
- Select Fax Destination as “Fax to Email”, and choose an extension’s email.
- Click “Save” and “Apply”.
