Enhance Security for Outbound Route by PIN

Introduction

For security, some customer want to set password for certain outbound route. In S series, we can use none or PIN List or Single Pin to set the password. On the other hand, you could check who made the calls by PIN for audit purpose.

Create a PIN List

PIN List is used to manage lists of PINs (numerical passwords) that can be used to access restricted features such as outbound routes. Firstly, we need to create a PIN list.

Path: Settings > PBX > Call Features > PIN List

Name: Specify a name for the PIN List.

Record in CDR: If enable this option, the PIN numbers dialed will be recorded in CDRs.

PIN List: when setting multiple password, we need to use line break to divide each password.

Set Password for Outbound Routes by Linking PIN List

After the PIN List was defined, we can link it to the Outbound Route. There are three option about password that we can choose: None, PIN List, Single Pin.

Path: Settings > PBX > Call Control > Outbound Route

Linking PIN List to Outbound Route

Linking Single PIN to Outbound Route

After configuration, when you use this outbound route to call out, you will hear a prompt "Please enter the password followed by the pound key". Enter right password you will hear "Thank you" and then reach to the number you dial. Enter the wrong password you will hear "Incorrect Password, Please enter the password followed by the pound key", wrong password for three times the call will be hung up.

Check CDR by PIN Code.

Go to CDR and Recordings, click  and tip PIN Code.

Then you will see the CDR page add a list for PIN Code.
