Call Recording Setup for S-Series VoIP PBX

Introduction

Call recording is free on the Yeastar S-series without license purchased. Here is the guide shows you how to use call recording.

Preparation 

As call recordings will be only stored in external storage, please make sure external storage has been installed inside Yeastar S-series PBX. And ensure it has been recognized on “Storage” page.

Below is the storage limitation for different PBX models.

For TF/SD card, we recommend that you use a high-performance one.

Setup

1. Choose storage location

Call recording files can't be saved in Local, so we need to choose a proper external storage location.

Path: Settings > System > Storage

2. Recording Setting

Path: Settings > PBX > Recording

1) Record Prompt 

You can set a prompt to notify the called party that the call will be recorded.

  • Internal Call Being Recorded Prompt: record for internal calls.
  • Outbound/Inbound Calls Being Recorded Prompt: record for outbound/inbound calls.

2) Record Trunks

Choose trunks, calls through the selected trunks will be recorded.

3)Record Extensions

Choose extensions, calls on the selected extensions will be recorded.

4)Record Conferences

Choose conferences, calls on the selected extensions will be recorded.

3.  Advanced Settings 

1) File share

In version 30.3.0.10, Yeastar S series can support for sharing hard disk / TF card / SD card / USB drive.

And in version 30.5.0.8 the "Enable File FTP Sharing" and "Allow to change shared field" was added.

 

Path: Settings > System > Storage > File Share

Instruction: if the hard disk / TF card / SD card / USB drive is being shared, the local users could access the shared folder to view and download the files.

Enable File FTP Sharing: check this option, then you can access the shared folder via \\XXXXX(ip adress of Yeastar S series PBX).

 

Enable FTP File sharing: tip this option, then you can access the shared folder via ftp://XXXXX(ip adress of Yeastar S series PBX).

Allow to change shared files: give permission to change the shared files.

The share file name is used to identify the shared folder, the account and password is used to login the folder.

2) Auto Cleanup 

Path: Settings > System > Storage > Auto Cleanup

Configure the Auto Cleanup settings and click Save, then the system will automatically cleanup recordings according to your settings. When max usage reached, the oldest recording will be deleted.

3) Call Recording Management

This feature defines if extensions can check and download the call recordings when log into Yeastar S series PBX’s web interface using its extension number and the user password.

Path: Settings > System >User Permission 

For example, configure the Recording Permission for extension 1000.

When we login Web User Interface the extension 1000, we can check the recording files in the "CDR and Recordings". But no permission to delete Recording.
