Skype Connect is a Skype feature that helps you can make Skype calls through your SIP-enabled PBX like Yeastar S-Series VoIP PBX. As a result, you can receive Skype calls on your office phones and make low-cost calls through Skype trunks.

Use the extension of Yeastar IPPBX to make international calls at a low Skype rate.
Note: you cannot call a Skype user using the extension of Yeastar IPPBX directly. If the Skype user has a Skype number, you need to call the Skype number. - Your customer can call you at a local number in their country
Buy a Skype number of a foreign country, customers in this country can dial the Skype number from landlines or mobiles at the local rate and be forwarded to the Yeastar IPPBX. - A Skype user can call you for free
Add a Skype account to the Skype SIP profile, Skype users can call the Skype account and be forwarded to the Yeastar IPPBX for free.

Creating a Skype Connect SIP Profile
- Visit the Skype Manager login page, and log in using your credentials. How to set up Skype manager, please see the Skype Manager User Guide.
- Click Features in the toolbar.
- In the menu on the left, click Skype Connect.
- Click Set up a SIP profile.
- Enter a name for your new profile and click Next.
- Enter the number of Skype Connect channels you require. Each channel allows one incoming or outgoing call at one time, choose and purchase the channels according to your needs.
Note: you need to buy at least one channel subscription to activate the SIP profile. - View the SIP profile and click Authentication details to check the SIP details.
- Note down your SIP profile information, we will register the SIP account in Yeastar S-Series IPPBX later. In case you’ve forgotten your SIP password, click Generate a new password, Skype will send a new password to your email.
Registering the Skype SIP Profile on Yeastar S-Series IPPBX
- Log in Yeastar S-Series IPPBX, navigate to Settings > PBX > Trunks, click Add.
- Choose the Trunk Type as Register Trunk, and fill in the Skype Connect SIP profile details.
- Provider Name: give a name for this VoIP trunk.
- Hostname/IP: skype.com
- Domain: skype.com
- User Name: enter the Skype SIP profile user name.
- Authentication Name: enter the Skype SIP profile user name.
- Password: enter the Skype SIP profile password.
- From User: enter the Skype SIP profile user name.
- Click Save and Apply, and check the trunk status on PBX Monitor.
Making Outbound Calls through the Skype SIP Trunk
Here we will create a new outbound route for the skype SIP trunk, you can edit the existed outbound route or create a new one.
- Log in Yeastar S-Series IPPBX, navigate to Settings > PBX > Call Control > Outbound Routes, click Add.
- Configure the outbound route, set the dial patterns like the following figure shows.
- Name: specify the outbound route name.
- Patterns: 00. (do not forget the dot)
- Member Trunks: select the Skype SIP trunk.
- Member Extensions: select the extensions that will be allowed to call out through the Skype SIP trunk.
- Click Save and Apply.
- Now, you can make a test call to the Skype echo online number.
Receiving Calls from Landline or Mobile Phone
By adding Skype number to your SIP profile, customers can call the Skype number, and the calls will be forwarded to your SIP profile.
- Log in Skype Manager, navigate to Features > Skype Connect, click View profile next to the name of the SIP profile.
- Click Add number or Skype account.
- Click Buy a new number to add a Skype number for the SIP profile. Once finished, you can see the Skype number.
- Log in Yeastar S-Series IPPBX, create an inbound route for the Skype SIP trunk, and set a destination for the incoming calls.
- Name: specify the inbound route name.
- Member Trunks: select the Skype SIP trunk.
- Destination: here we choose IVR. You can set a different destination according to your needs.
- Click Save and Apply.
- Now, you can test a call to the Skype number +14692064314 from your mobile phone or landline, the call will be forwarded to the Yeastar IPPBX’s IVR.
Receiving Calls from Skype Users
By adding a Skype account to your SIP profile, customers can add and call the Skype account on Skype, the call will be forwarded to Yeastar IPPBX.
- Log in Skype Manager, navigate to Features > Skype Connect, click View profile next to the name of the SIP profile.
- Click Add number or Skype account.
- Click Add Skype account and enter one of Yeastar IPPBX’s Extension number. The call will be forwarded to the extension.
Note: if you cannot add the current Skype account to the SIP profile, try to log in Skype Manager with other skype administrator user, go to the SIP profile settings, add Skype account to the SIP profile.
- Log in Yeastar S-Series IPPBX, create an inbound route for the Skype SIP trunk, and set a destination for the incoming calls.
- Name: specify the inbound route name.
- Member Trunks: select the Skype SIP trunk.
- Destination: choose the same extension we set on the Skype Manager.
- Click Save and Apply.
Now, you can add the Skype account and call the user on Skype, the call will be forwarded to the Yeastar IPPBX’s extension 1005.
Note: you should add the skype account and accepted by the skype account, or the call will fail.
