Question about Yeastar N412 PBX

Hello,

My ISDN line in my local office was converted to VOIP. Router is connected to my N412 PBX via VOIP1, VOIP2 to two FXO ports. There is a number of analog phones, a fax and an alarm system.  After the convertion to VOIP i have the following problem: 

When we have an incoming call and we answer that call, then at the second incoming call (while first channel is busy) we hear at the phone the indication that we are having a second incoming call, but what we really want is the phones to ring in order to answer the second incoming call to another device in the office.

As it has something to do with the incoming routes, do i have to purchase a BRI module for my N412 and connect it to a BRI port (i have a router with a BRI port from my provider but have not opened it) or is this possible via settings in my PBX? Does it have something to do with call waiting?

  What you describe is neither a route or a PBX issue, but how the phone is handling call waiting. Presumably, you could create a ring group of phones so that if the one phone is already engaged in a call and a second call comes in, the call would ring the others. 

  In most cases, if a call is coming in and call waiting is enabled, the second call will appear on the IP phone display and/or present a call waiting notification to the handset receiver speaker so that the person is aware of another inbound call. It would be somewhat unusual to be in a call and have the phone activate its ringer upon the second call as not only would others in the office hear it, but so would the person on the other end of the 1st call. 

  As you want others in the office to hear and respond to the second ring/call, the implication is  that you would not answer the call, but want someone else to, but in the meantime the 1st call participant still hears the ringing which likely make that conversation something less than ideal.

  Thanks for the reply and the general recommendations. Issue with the second call was solved by the ISP provider. I have sporadic, and random (non determenistic) hangouts while i am in a call. Provider insists that this is a PBX issue (settings - parameters). I think that this phenomenon began when my provider changed the line from ISDN to VoIP. What is happening is that while we are in a call, call stops suddenly and line closes and customer has to call again. But the time that this happens (how many minutes i am in the call when line drops) is random and i can not make any assumptions or conclusions. 

  Can you help me? Any recommendations of what should i search first? PBX is at the latest firmware version.
