I am trying to access my PBX web portal from a public IP. I have forwarded the relevant ports on my router i.e. HTTPS 443 to pbxdomain.com:8040 however I am still unable to access the PBX web portal.

I have resolved this. My router configuration to forward the web access port for the PBX was not working as it should. Thanks.
Glad you got it working, but I caution that by opening the port up to the Internet, it will be attacked by those who want to see if they can get in. If at all possible I encourage you to put in rules into the firewall that will only allow those IPs that you want to have access and drop the rest. It too many attack, the PBX may suffer in trying to handle the requests to the extent that the resources needed to handle same may detract from the resources that would otherwise be needed to handle calls.
