The only things required for a registation are:
1. SIP server and port, the IP of the S PBX and typically 5060 UDP for the port
2. User name (extension number)
3.AuthID (extension number)
4. Password
You should also insure that the phone is not blacklisted. Chaeck in the scurity area of the PBX.
Hello Larry,
Thanks for explanation. From PBX side I knew the configuration, but from phone side, there is nothing to configure on phone. IP address of the phone (DHCP or Static) and other setting like VLAN,.. is the only thing I can change.
For example in SPA525 there is web console which I can configure, but in CP-8845, neither web console nor phone menus available to do the adjustment.
OK, now I understand. There's an old saying - "No one ever got fired for buying Cisco".....no matter how complicated they could make it.
What you need is the XML config file which is generated within the CUCM. You will need to get the XML file and populate it accordingly and use the TFTP server in the S-PBX or a different TFTP server by which the phone can retrieve the config.
You can refer to this for more detail, but I do not have a CUCM or access to one. Sorry. You might do a Google search for CP-8845 xml config file and see what shows up. There will be a number of them, but you will have to see which fits your needs best from the ones on the Internet.
Here is one such explanation of what it is about -
