Hello, maybe I am missing something but i am looking for help,
i set up a S20 Phone System with one SIP Trunk, is there a possibility
to set the caller id. I.E. when extension number 12 dials out, the other person can see from which extension the call was initiated. Now everyone can see the main Number only,
Is this something i can set in the phone system, or do i have to contact the service Provider of my SIP Trunk?

Well, there are a number of possible issues to overcome -
You can use the DOD in the trunk to set a CID for a given extension and you can add a number at the end such as 9995551212+200 which would represent the CID and the +200 the extension, but
1. The SIP provider must accept and some will not allow CID to be modified to the extent that the number is not in the inventory of the calling account.
2. The country in which the call is originating may have laws that prevent CID manipulation to this extent.
3. If the practice in your locale is such that the delivering carrier sees the CID and does a database "dip" to retrieve the caller name (Cnam), the number alteration may not allow them to be able to retrieve the name and instead it may show up on the callee's display as unknown or other which may cause them not to take the call as they won't know who.
4. As in #3, any device that has its own phone book look-up, will also most likely not be able to resolve.
5. The length of the CID you propose may exceed the callee's display capabilities and some of the number may be cut-off.
6. CID is typically limited to numerical digits and a "+" sign, which may also be locale dependent, but consider that many may not understand what the +200 is and further, that may also impede their ability to use a redial function.
7. Any emergency calls made may not be recognizable by the emergency center and they may not be able to look-up an address to know where to respond.
There are some other possible issues, but I have provided the mechanism by which you can at least try and see, but not knowing your locale, SIP provider and the rules or laws that may come into play, you should approach it carefully.
