I am new to this so go easy please..:)
I have an S 20 and have configured a Gamma SIP trunk on it. I can happily receive calls but if I attempt to make an outbound call i get a Q.850 cause=21 error on the phone.
has anyone successfully configured a Gamma trunk with the S20 at all?

cause 21 means call had been rejected. refer this cause list: https://wiki.asterisk.org/wiki/display/AST/Hangup+Cause+Mappings
Do you test other numbers, also you might contact provider to see if you have dialed the right format of the number.
Make a Capture and send here.
You have set the right DOD in Trunk Settings ?
apologies....I did fix this but forgot to post it on here.
It was to do with NAT settings on the GENERAL -> SIP sections
