We use SMTP for email notifications, voicemails etc however have no requirement for a POP connection and never will.
If we try to do an email test it will always fail as there are no POP servers configured.
Is it possible to do a check on the respective field and if a server is not defined just skip that part of the test?
The result can then be displayed as:
SMTP PASS / FAIL / SKIPPED
POP3 PASS / FAIL / SKIPPED
I also would prefer, to only have an SMTP option and no POP server to configure.
Is there any current use of a POP service within the PBX?
And if yes, couldn't that be separated from the SMTP configuration and testing?

I agree, I don't see where we need to "receive" and process mail in the PBX, and i can't configure POP with he risk of it pulling in email from our heavily used mailbox. Outgoing mail testing and individual testing would be ideal. Also, clearer logging for troubleshooting too - I shouldn't need to download logs to understand that I may have a password wrong, for instance.
