I have a customer that is going from a Samsung officeserv telephone systems to a S20. The customer has 3 outside sales reps. and they only have virtual extensions on the Samsung. They can Transfer the call to there Ext. on the Samsung and it will ring there Cell phone and If they dont answer it will go there mailbox on the Samsung system. Is there a way to add users to the S20 that dont't have a registered phone on the system. I want to set up remote user on the S20 but they dont need a telephone they just want to us there cell phones.

Larry Neblett Sure, but only to a point.
This is also oftentimes referred to as a "dummy" extension. You simply configure the extension in the PBX as normal. Then in the features section of the extension, you indicate the forwarding desired. As there is no phone, the system will not make any attempt to ring, but instead it will follow the forwarding rule you created.
What is currently lacking in the system is a "follow-me" function. This is a function that when a caller goes into the PBX, the PBX then initiates a call to the extension owner's cell (in this case) and then presents the extension owner with the option of accepting or rejecting the call. If the owner accepts the call, then the PBX goes ahead and merges the caller and callee together. If the owner rejects the call, then the system will not pass the call on, but rather redirect the call according to the rules setup, normally the VM on the PBX so that the owner can either retrieve the VM at their leisure or have it emailed.
At this time the PBX can only forward and once the call is passed to the cellular network, call control by the PBX is lost. This means that the extension owner will either have to take the call or allow it the call to go to the cellular VM instead of the PBX VM. Perhaps Yeastar will incorporate the function in a future firmware release.

Jonathan Be careful of extension limits, for example a 16 user system may not fit inside an s20 due to the need for"dummy" extensions.
