N412: No longer able to login, error "getMypbxString is not defined"?

Hi,

today I was no longer able to login to my N412 device Configuration Panel. Both Firefox and IE loading the page, but click on "login" does nothing. If I open the browser error consoles, I get errors:

SyntaxError: unexpected token: identifier
ReferenceError: getMypbxString is not defined

The errors come up directly after the logjn page was loaded. Ctrl+F5 to ignore cached pages does not help. I have neither edited something nor did I do an update or something like this. It worked two weeks ago and now it fails. No AdBlocker or AntiVirus in the chain.

What can I do to get back access to my N412?

  Just an update: Still working, so keep fingers crossed :-)

  The browser cache or cookies were definitely not the cause: I opened the inspector window of Firefox (F12) and cleaned all cookies and data. No success. I opened IE (never used before on that page) and he triggered the same from the beginning. I installed Chrome Browser and the same errors. Then, after restart using power plug, the whole system hang and did not even activate the ports LEDs any more. No functionality at all. Only factory reset helped. Thus, I'm really really really 100% sure that it was no browser/cache/cookie related issue at all.

  But thanks for all the tips and hints. Good to know that there is some community and Yeastar for helping out!

  Have you tried to reboot the system?

  Try clean the cache of your browser and see if that help.

  I just tried but that was a bad idea. Now, all phone lines are dead. 5 Families without phone and door bell now. The Configuration Panel login page comes up, but the same error again. I already tried several Web-Browsers (Firefox, Chrome and IE). No success.

  So I can't log-in to see what happened and all lines are dead now. The only lights that are on are the Power and the network LED. The "walking man" LED is blinking. All other lights are off. No matter if some device is plugged in or not.

  What now?

  To me it sounds like you either have a defective PBX or a corruption has occurred. My assumption at this point is that your only option is to factory reset the system and then restore a backup and see. 

  You could also contact support directly as perhaps they may have a way of using SSH or other to access the system and advise further.

  I'm guessing but I'd check the power supply.   If the voltage is low, it could cause the mysterious behavior you are seeing.

  Okay, I pressed the small reset button for a few seconds and the system was reset. Upon this, I was able to log-in again and restored a backup. It seems to work for the moment.

  I wonder how a low power supply voltage can make it break completely, so that even a restart (reboot) does not help? But I will check this. For me, it more looks like some older web-software version started to run or webserver serving some older files, causing several JavaScript functions to not yet exist or fail because of missing elements (see my first post error messages). Thus, I think it is more likely a software bug than some hardware issue that caused the problems.

  I really hope that this does not happen any more. Even if it does, I doubt that the retailer will handle this correctly because it happens only after a while. This are the hard repairs...

  When it comes to computing devices, there are any number of things that can cause things to go awry. It could be a weak memory cell whose charge cannot be maintained thereby causing a corruption of some aspect...depending on what location. Bad power supply inserting noise as a filter cap has gone bad and more. No different than a PC, sooner or later, something will happen that causes undesired operation which is why it is important that you keep the firmware up to date and maintain backups so that should something happen, you can recover. The firmware updates may encompass fixes to issues that lead up to or are direct causes of such anomolies and there is always the possibility that some fix bugs unknowingly or bugs that are not published by the manufacturer. 

  As an side, power can cause many an issue. Without going into all the details, I will not install a PBX that is not also on a UPS with some form of AVR. 

   

  In any event, glad you are back in operation.

  I think for this kind of issues, clean the browser would help as my past experience.

  The S PBX web GUI are using cookies so if add some feature into the new version of firmware, the cookies might work work properly with the new version of firmware. I was always suggested by the yeastar team to clean the cache and seems works every time.
