Music on hold dependant on Ring group

Hi,

I need to check the functionality for a customer with a u100 mypbx. The customer has multiple ring groups for different departments e.g. ring group 601 for accounts rings extension 100,101,102, ring group 602 for Trade counter ringing 103,104,105 and a few others. All the ring groups are accessible by the customers through various NVR's. My cleint is requesting that if a customer rings in and go to one of the department they get a custom message while on hold for an operator depending on the department they are calling. I can't see a way of doing this from exploring the options on the gui. Is this possible with the current firmware I am using the  20.20.0.21beta firmware.

  Colum,

  I guess the beta version don't support the feature you want.

  You can try customize the dial plan to support customer's requirement.

  Take below for reference(Solution below is not solution for your customer, it is for reference only): 

   

  Step 1, Upload MOH file on PBX -> Audio settings -> Music On Hold Prompts

  

  Step 2, Setup Inbound Route, in this example, we setup the inbound route name as GSMin

   

  Step 3, Search the route name in /etc/asterisk/extensions.conf

  You will find dial plan like below:

  [DID_trunk_11]

  exten = s,1,Macro(incoming_GSMin,0,${EXTEN})

  exten = _.,1,Macro(incoming_GSMin,0,${EXTEN})

  exten = h,1,hangup()

   

  Please note the [DID_trunk_11] is inbound route context for PSTN/GSM/UMTS trunks, for SIP (VoIP or service provider), the context will be different

   

  For VoIP trunk, it might be

  [from-trunk]

  exten = 1234567,1,Set(ENABLEDNIS=0)

  exten = 1234567,n,Set(IP_FROM_TRUNK=SIP/trunk-out-)

  exten = 1234567,n,Macro(incoming_VoIPin,0,${EXTEN})

   

  For SPS, it might be

  [DID_inbound_trunk-sps-122]

  include = default

  exten = _12345,1,Macro(incoming_SPSin,0,${EXTEN})

  exten = h,1,hangup()

   

   

  Step 4, Copy above lines into /persistent/custom-cfg/extensions_custom.conf and modify the dial plan as below: (Pay attention to the line highlight below, that is the one we setup MOH)

  [DID_trunk_11]

  exten = s,1,Set(CHANNEL(musicclass)=sunshine)

  exten = s,2,Macro(incoming_GSMin,0,${EXTEN})

  exten = _.,1,Macro(incoming_GSMin,0,${EXTEN})

  exten = h,1,hangup()

   

   

  Step 5, Save the customized extensions_custom.conf file and apply changes from web GUI of MyPBX

   

  Step 6, Make an incoming call and test if the MOH is setup correctly.

   

  Step 7, Finish
