When making changes to an Extension such as making changes to the behavior of the function keys, Yeastar does not automatically provision these changes to the phones - not even over night.
Even after saving the changes, it is necessary to manually trigger the provisioning of these changes to every phone that extension is assigned to.
This should happen automatically upon saving the changes to the extension.
Totally agree, the system should trigger a reprovision of handsets when changes are made. Even more so as the extension user can make changes to their line keys from the web client, they have no way to reprovision these changes to their handset.
As a work around, and if you're using Yealink handsets, you could add something like this to a custom template:
static.auto_provision.repeat.enable=1
static.auto_provision.repeat.minutes=15
This example will autoprovision the handset every 15 mins.
You could change this value from 1 to 43200mins, although, I probably wouldn't set it less than 5 mins.
I'd assume that other vendors would have something similar.
Would be best if Yeastar can make it so the system automatically updates changes though.
Perhaps it would be good to have this as a global setting that is on by default and could be turned off. I've experienced situations where I've programmed changes on phones and perhaps don't want the phone to auto-provision right away due to various reasons e.g. the phone is in use.
Perhaps an option would be to have it pop up with a prompt as soon as a change is made asking whether you want to auto-provision the phone again now (it currently does this when a template is changed but would perhaps be have this when other settings such as the function keys are changed).
I like the idea of it being a global setting that's turned on by default.
But I suggest to not do the pop-up then. That just adds another mouse click, I think.
If its a popup asking you if you want to re-provision the associated phones, and you have the option to press "No" - it would be good if the system could display an indication in the admin portal that there are "Unsynced Changes" or something similar..
How would you propose the re-provision action from the users web client?

I agree this should be implemented as a feature.
