Add the ability to manage an extensions function keys based on the Extension group they are assigned to.
I.e all staff in the "Sales" team get assigned the same button profile.
Allow overrides to be set at the extension level.

Eric Jiang Hi Daniel,
You can add a custom template for Sales with Advanced type and configure the function keys.
Then use the custom template for those phones.
-
Daniel Anderson That would work - in theory, however, users may use slightly differing models and would require a lot of management of custom templates.
What I am proposing would be adding a Function Keys menu to the Extension Groups.
Here is a mockup:
Then you have a nice graphical interface to manage the keys. -
Daniel Anderson Further to this, when you add a BLF item, the system pulls in the Extension name in as the label.
When the Extension Name is updated, and the Label hasnt been changed from the Extension name, it should be updated automatically.
For example:
I added the extension 205-Steve Johnson and added "Steve" to Key3.
The phone system automatically added the Label as "Steve Johnson".
I then went and changed the FirstName & LastName to "James Stokes".
The Key Value updates to reflect the new extension name "James Stokes", but the label stays as "Steve Johnson"
The Label should be updated in this case. -

Further to this - currently a user can access and change their function keys in the user portal, however, their changes wont be automatically updated on their IP Phone as there is no method for them to reprovision their handset.
Once changes are made to a Function Key profile, the assigned handsets should be reprovisioned automatically on save. -
Stuart Clifton Or the ability to import a set of function keys to a extension or group of extensions (bulk edit).
Create a set, export it say as Sales, then import that set into the rest of the Sales team.
You could them modify the set accordingly and upload over an existing set or using for new starters.
This does not allow for the user to modify their own Function Keys, will probably overwrite them, but allows for a quicker setup.
