S300 register remotely issue

Hi

 

We have an S300 PBX setup on a /23 network. 

 

e.g

PBX on 192.168.90.2/23 subnet of 255.255.254.0 and a GW of 192.168.90.1.

Now we have run out of the first /24 of the /23 IP's which are used on phones. So I started using 192.168.91.2 on a phone. It does not register at all.

Error:

[2017-07-13 19:21:55] WARNING[18350] res_pjsip_registrar.c: register failed ! endpoint[3078] open remote register restrict

 

To get it to work in the extension setup I had to tick "register remotely"???

 

This makes no sense? Why would that need to be ticket, everything is on the same subnet.

  Do you configure the PBX at WAN port or LAN port? 

  To my past experience, if you configure at WAN port, you will need to enable register remotely even the IP phone and the PBX are in the same network.

  Get into system and PBX General settings and locate NAT and add new net in.This is assuming that the S300 is network is operating in single or LAN mode.  You should then be able to uncheck the remote.
