how about a second type of GSM  module for using the data network instead of the voice network? This would allow the ability for having multiple channels instead of the limiting one channel with the current GSM module.

  Trent, as I know from my Yeastar support representative, Yeastar is developing a 4G module, which will be available for the S series PBX, the 4G module will support for data network. Yeastar plan to release the 4G module around the end of February 2017. I don't have more detail for the current stage, let's wait for the release of Yeastar 4G module.
