1-Way Paging Solution for Paging Group to Play Prompt

Applicability Scope

  • Firmware Version: All
  • Model: S-Series PBX

 

Precondition

SIP terminals must support the paging function.

 

Solution Background

Scenarios for solution 1:

1. In the lobby of the airport, you need to call the specific 1-way paging number for playing a music before you broadcast to all the passengers

2. At the office, the administrator calls different specific 1-way paging numbers to info the staff to have lunch/pray through different music prompt

3. At school, configure a school bell or the alert for the specific 1-way paging number

Scenario for solution 2:

Same to Scenario 1, but the paging time is limited. The call will be automatically disconnected after music prompt.

1. Create the different 1-Way Paging groups on the web page

2. Upload the custom voice prompt files into the PBX

3. Prepare to custom the extensions.conf file through the SSH interface of PBX

Login the SSH interface : https://support.yeastar.com/hc/en-us/articles/225066728-How-to-Login-the-SSH-of-Yeastar-MyPBX 

4. Copy the dialplan and content of context of [macro-pagingintercom] in /etc/asterisk/extensions.conf

5. Paste the dialplan to /ysdisk/support/customcfg/extensions_custom.conf, and then, input the content as below. There takes the paging number 6300 and 6301 as examples, you could do the same thing for other paging groups. 

1) Enter command vi /ysdisk/support/customcfg/extensions_custom.conf 

2) Enter the keyboard i

3) Copy and paste the content of context into this file

4) Enter ESC and input :wq

5) astconfig

6) asterisk -vvvvvvvvvvvvvvvr

7) dialplan reload

6. After taking effect, test the paging number 6300 or 6301.

Any extension of the PBX call 6300 or 6301, the extensions in the paging group will automatically answer and hear the music prompt like NewIVR or schulglocke2. 

Note: After playing the music prompt, this call will not disconnected automatically, so that the caller or the paging group members needs to hangup it manually. 

Meanwhile, this modification does not affect the number 6302.

 

Solution 2

The step5 is different from last solution, you may need to add one more content
exten = s,1,Set(TIMEOUT(absolute)=10) into the context of [macro-pagingintercom]. 

Which means all the 1-way paging calls will be automatically disconnected in 10 seconds, you could change it to 15, 30 or other value according to your need (seconds). Basically the timeout should be longer than the duration of the prompt.

After taking effect, test the paging number 6300 or 6301.

Any extension of the PBX call 6300 or 6301, the extensions in the paging group will automatically answer and hear the music prompt like NewIVR or schulglocke2.

Note: After playing the music prompt, this call will automatically disconnected in 10 seconds, the caller or the paging group members can also manually hangup it when it's playing. 

Meanwhile, this modification does not affect the number 6302.
