Linkus Login Failure - Failed to Connect Server

Applicability

  • Firmware version: Any
  • Model: S-Series, Linkus Traditional Mode

Problem Description

The Linkus client shows the error "Failed to connect server".

Analysis

The issue is normally a network issue that the TCP port 8011 has not been configured for the port mapping.

You can use the Telnet tool on the computer to test the if the port mapping has been configured well or not.

Enter the CMD tool and input command:

telnet X.X.X.X 8111

Here we assume your external port is 8111. And X.X.X.X is the public IP of your PBX.

If port mapping working, it would show like the following figure:

If port mapping is failed, the error would like the following figure:

Solution

Let your IT guy check the port mapping again for the TCP port 8111.

I have the same issue with my S50, When the phone is connected to a different Wi-Fi network from S-Series PBX or connected to the mobile data, this is what shows up  "failed to connect to the server-reconnecting please wait."

I tried the Telnet with the IP Adress and the linkus port. and I had the second figure meaning that the port mapping is correct.

Port forwarding and port redirection on the router is well done as well.

Please is there anything I have to do again?
