How to Use Call Parking

Call Park is a VoIP Phone system feature that allows users to place a call on hold for an extended period of time and then retrieve that call from any extension.

On Yeastar S-Series VoIP PBX phone system, Call Parking is activated by pressing a pre-configured feature code. This transfers the current telephone call to an unused extension number and immediately put the conversation on hold, which can be resumed later by dialing the parked extension on any desk phone or softphone.

Use Case

When one who is answering an incoming call wants to move to another location to take the current call, he can dial a preconfigured feature code on the desk phone or softphone, and system will prompt that the call is parked at an extension number, i.e. 6900. Then this person can hang up the call and leave, and use another phone to dial 6900 to retrieve the call in the target location.

Call Parking Settings

Go to “Settings > PBX> General> Feature Code” page to check and edit the call parking settings.

  • Call Parking Feature Code : *6
  • Directed Call Parking Feature Code : *06, dial *06+"parked extension" to park the call at the specific extension number. For example, dial *066999 to park the call at extension 6999. Then you can retrieve the call by dialing 6999 on other phone.
  • Parking Extension Range : 6900-6999
  • Parking Timeout : default is 60 seconds.

USE BLF Call Park Feature on IP Phone

The BLF call park feature of an IP Phone enables you to monitor an orbit extension and pick up the parked number on this extension. Here we take Yealink IP phone as an example to introduce how to set up this feature on IP Phone.

Log in the web user interface of the Yealink IP Phone, and set up the feature on DSSKey tab.

  • Type: choose BLF.
  • Value: fill in the parked extension number, i.e.6900.
  • Line: choose the Line that S-series VoIP PBX extension registered to.
  • Extension : fill in the parked extension number, i.e.6900.

When a call is being parked to extension 6900, the BLF key on the phone turns RED. You can dial 6900 to resume the call or press the BLF key directly.

AI, do you mean to setup the phone to dial *6 (*066XXX) to park the call? Or you would like to monitor the status of the parked slot?

If you would like to park the call, then follow below screenshot:

If you would like to see the status, then follow bellow screenshot: (Please change the Line 3 to the one that you register your extension)

Note: I am using T27P for example, there might be small difference between T42 and T27P

It is a call park feature, why should i set DTMF in the Type field, shouldn't it be "Call Park"? And which mode are you support? FAC or Transfer?
