May I know the purpose of allowing "Nearby Devices" for the linkus?

The "Nearby devices" can be bluetooth earphones for instance.
When this permission is allowed, Linkus can use bluetooth phone as audio device to make and receive calls.
So this is permission is a pre-condition for Linkus app to invoke bluetooth earphones

I do not use any bluetooth devices, I can place calls on my mobile as normal with my default OS call app.

The Linkus app refuses to place or receive calls at all unless "Nearby Devices" permission is granted.

I understand if bluetooth devices are in use, then this permission is needed. I do not understand why this permission is required when bluetooth is off and no bluetooth devices are in use.
